Big Blue Tech will be conducting a 4 day Extended Range course in the Similan Islands .

This trip includes the option of up to 16 dives. This trip will be open to divers from around Thailand.

Pre-Requisites: Must be minimum Decompression Procedures Diver or equivalent. Conduct: The course will be done on site in the similan islands national park over a 4 day period of up to 16 dives with academic plus skills. Certification as a Extended Range Diver will be received after completing 6 dives and a final exam with 10 experience dives to follow.

This trip includes the option of up to 10 dives. This trip will be open to divers from around Thailand.

Pre-Requisites: Must be minimum Advanced with 20 dives ( Redundant Breathing System Provided)

Conduct: The course will be done on site in the national park over a 4 day period of 10 dives with academic plus dry land skills. Certification as a Cavern Diver will be received after completing 4 dives and a final exam with 6 experience dives to follow.

Sea Chart 1 Shipwreck Survey On January 9th to 13th 2010

Big Blue Tech will be conducting long technical dives on the Mv Sea Chart 1 based off the coast of Khao Lak. This event is open to experienced technical divers only in the region.

The purpose of this trip will be to conduct a survey of the condition of the wreck and identify hazards for other divers by placing guides and warning signs. History: MV Sea Chart 1, a Thai bulk-carrier ship transporting of teak from Myanmar (Burma) sank 6 nautical miles from shore of Khao Lak on August 23rd. Mv Sea Chart 1 was transporting over 1000 teak logs in its 3000 ton hold from Myanmar (Burma) across the Andaman Sea, down through the Straits of Malacca and then on to to its final destination in Vietnam.

The ship encountered rough seas and severe weather causing multiple leaks in its hull. Water leaked into the ships engine room rendering it without power to navigate the waves causing the vessel to sink. All crew on board the Sea Chart 1 survived on inflatable rafts. By the morning all crew members were safely rescued by the Thai Navy.. Sea Chart 1 wreck, 84 meters long and 12 meters wide, now rests on her starboard side in approx 40 meters of salt water. This shipwreck still retains it’s cargo and official recover has only just begun. Local police have recently restricted access pending an official insurance investigation and recovery effort. This has now passed allowing divers to explore. Cost: 5,000 THB for 2 technical dives including equipment.

Welcome to Dive Point's new Safari!!!!

We meet together in the morning around 6:30 at the Dive Point office in Mae Haad Koh Tao.

From our office we organize your transfer to our dive boat. The boatmaster will introduce the 25 m dive boat, then we are off to our first dive site chumphon pinnacle. The divemasters and instructors will arrange the equipment for everybody then you will get a personal dive briefing with your guides.

The entire time you are relaxing and diving our cook prepares delicious food and snacks on board.
